White-water swimming in crystal-clear mountain streams is just one of the refreshing adventures on offer at the Achensee lake in Tyrol.
The play of colours in the water of the Achensee region alone is a delight. The light limestone rock makes the Achensee glow from turquoise blue to aquamarine.
Sailors, surfers and kiteboarders appreciate the good wind conditions on the largest lake in Tyrol. For swimmers, the water offers welcome refreshment. Lake Achensee, which is up to 133 metres deep, is also an attractive spot for divers.
Aside from the lake, the mountain streams in the valleys of the Karwendel Nature Park entice visitors to adventures in the water.
White-water swimming is probably one of the most spectacular ways to experience nature up close. Accompanied by guides and equipped with wetsuits, helmets and swimming boards, participants glide through the crystal-clear streams and rivers. Canyoning and tubing tours are also available.
