Visitors to the west of Austria can take advantage of a new culinary activity programme in the Vorarlberg this autumn.
The Herbst.Genuss.Zeit (‘Autumn.Pleasure.Time’) is running in the Kleinwalsertal, the Großwalsertal, the Klostertal and in the Bregenzerwald region from 12 September through to 04 October.
In the Kleinwalsertal, for example, the programme includes guided culinary walks from Thursday to Sunday. On Tuesdays guests can choose an e-bike tour to a bio-farmer in the mountains and on Wednesdays a dairy farmer explains how the local mountain cheese is produced – naturally with a tasting session.
During the period of the culinary event, chosen local hotels will be presenting their own special regional menus. Their chefs will be transforming local products such as the mountain cheese from the Bregenzerwald or the Stanzer plums from just over the border in the Tyrol into their own interpretations for their festival menu.
