The idyllic and enchanting Laudachsee is located on the Grünberg in the Salzkammergut region of Upper Austria.
The Grünberg, the local mountain of Gmunden on Lake Traun, is popular with hikers and mountaineers alike.
The path to the Laudachsee, 894 metres above sea level, is ideal for an enjoyable short hike.
It starts at the top station of the Grünberg cable car and leads to the lake and back in about an hour. If you want to walk around the lake, you will need another forty minutes.
The wide path and the views of the neighbouring mountain, the mighty 1,691m Traunstein, make this hike particularly attractive.
The Grünberg cable car is in operation until 10 November.
