Climbing at the Faaker See

The Kanzianiberg near Finkenstein has always been popular with climbers. Its solid and secure rock faces rise steeply from the waters of the Faaker See, with some of them reaching 60 metres in height.

The area offers a wide choice of rock climbing routes and via ferratas of all degrees of difficulty. The “Magic Mountain Trail” connects several routes and those in the “Glucke” and “Königin” sections are particularly suitable for families with children with climbing experience.

Those who want to get to know the terrain first can practice on the beginner routes on the rocks near the car park. Two alpine schools offer guided via ferrata tours. Participants in the courses can also cross the gorge between the Great and Small Prasvale with the Flying Fox.

An introduction to climbing for children from the age of eight with simple climbing and abseiling exercises is on the programme every Wednesday.
