The largest lake stage in the world is getting ready for the summer performances of Rigoletto in 2019.
The stage design of the lake performances at the Bregenz Festival is always spectacular and full of surprises.
Something that you had assumed to be static suddenly begins to move. The light effects and the atmosphere in the open air conjure up magical worlds.
The eye-catcher of this year’s production is a huge clown’s head, flanked by two mighty hands. The head symbolizes the main character of this year’s opera: Giuseppe Verdi’s “Rigoletto”, which will be performed from 17 July to 18 August.
Visitors to Bregenz can take a look at some of the technical subtleties hidden in the clown’s head, hands and stage structures during guided tours behind the scenes of the lake stage. On stage, the participants can also get an idea of what it feels like for the singers to play on such a large expanse on the water.
The 50-minute guided tours run until 15 July on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and from 17 July to 18 August 2019 on a daily basis. The tours cost 7.50 Euros per person.
