Alpine Ballooning in the Kaiserwinkl

Last updated on April 8th, 2020 at 06:49 am

Visitors to the Kaiserwinkl region of the Tyrol can expect a lot of hot air from 25 January to 01 February 2020.

The conditions for ballooning are much better in winter than in summer and this is the time for the biggest winter hot air balloon event in Europe.

Burners hiss and hot air inflates the huge, colourful covers, balloon crews bring their aircraft into position and everyone waits for the start signal.

Every day, more than 50 balloons from six nations rise into the air against the majestic backdrop of the Wilder Kaiser mountain range.

One of the highlights will be the Night Glowing with mulled wine party and fireworks.
